Wealden District Council’s Active 4 Life programme offers dance, movement and yoga sessions for older people across Wealden.
Age Concern and Help the Aged are now Age UK, the largest charity working for older people.
An Open Farm based in Hellingly, East Sussex, situated amongst 70 acres of land with beautiful views over the Sussex Downs, with a Farm Shop supplying local and English products as well as being the village shop for Hellingly, a cafe run by an winning chef with fresh cakes, lunches, breakfasts, cream teas and much more and our 450 year old function barn, used for weddings and other functions such as comedy nights as well as a Salsa night & a Swing & Jazz night, both to be held in November. They offer a local residents discount card of 10% off everything at Blackstock Farm. For the rest of the Summer holidays they are offering Free Entry to all grandparents under retirement age as well as pensioners.
Care for the Carers is an independent charity which supports unpaid carers in East Sussex who look after a relative, friend or neighbour who is frail, disabled, and/or has a long term illness.
East Sussex Credit Union (ESCU) has confirmed plans to provide a free budgeting and money management advice service to the hard-pressed residents of Wealden. Sponsored by Wealden District Council, ESCU will be providing a programme of simple, down-to-earth, local financial workshops across the district beginning in July. The new ESCU workshops are designed specifically to help educate people to manage their finances better and where required to promote access to an ethical lender, able to provide cost effective credit and savings solutions. This avoids the need for residents to approach payday loan companies or doorstep lenders who can charge extortionate rates of interest and impose very restrictive terms and conditions.
Healthy Walks are part of the nationwide Walking for Health scheme which aims to get people healthier and happier by providing free, short and easy led walks.

Law Commission Consultation on Outdated Law of Wills
The outdated law of wills needs an overhaul according to the Law Commission.
Age UK has been asked by The Law Commission to share this public consultation published on 13th July 2017. It remains open for feedback until 10th November 2017.
The Law Commission says that laws are failing to protect the vulnerable – and not allowing others to distribute their cherished possessions after they’ve gone.
The independent legal body estimates that 40% of people who die every year haven’t made a will and as a result wants to make sure that the law around wills is working for everyone.
